Ragdoll size

The Ragdoll is one of the largest cat breeds. Males usually weigh 15–20 lb (6.8–9.1 kg) and females 10–15 lb (4.5–6.8 kg), and they can take about 4 years to reach full size. Enter your cat's weight to see how it compares.

Breed ranges are a guide, not a target: a healthy body shape matters more than the number on the scale. Last reviewed October 9, 2026.

How big do Ragdolls get?

Breed registries and vet sources don't agree exactly, so here is what each one says about adult weight:

SourceMalesFemales
TICA15–20 lb10–15 lb
VCA15–20 lb (all adults)15–20 lb (all adults)
Purina10–15 lb (all adults)10–15 lb (all adults)

Based on these figures, the size checker uses 15–20 lb (6.8–9.1 kg) for males and 10–15 lb (4.5–6.8 kg) for females. Ranges a source gives for all adults are shown for reference.

When do Ragdolls stop growing?

CFA says Ragdolls reach their full size and weight at about 4 years, and TICA says they take up to 4 years to reach full maturity. Ragdolls keep filling out after their first birthday, so a 1-year-old can still be well below its adult weight.

There is no published month-by-month growth chart for Ragdoll kittens from a breed registry or vet source, so we don't print one. For the first months, compare your kitten with the kitten growth chart, and use the kitten feeding chart to see how much to feed.
