These sizes come from the standard for the Australian Labradoodle, a line bred over several generations. A first-generation Labrador × Poodle cross can end up bigger: PetMD gives about 50–75 lb for a standard Labradoodle. ALCA also notes that adult size can't be predicted exactly.
How big does a Labradoodle get?
According to the breed standard of the Australian Labradoodle Club of America (ALCA), adults weigh: standard 50–65 lb; medium 30–40 lb; miniature 16–25 lb. PetMD gives a life expectancy of 12–15 years.
| Weight | Height | |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 50–65 lb | 21–24 in |
| Medium | 30–40 lb | 17–20 in |
| Miniature | 16–25 lb | 14–16 in |
When does a Labradoodle stop growing?
How fast a Labradoodle matures depends on its size, because smaller dogs finish growing sooner. Typical ages for reaching close to adult weight: Standard at around 15 months, Medium at around 13 months and Miniature at around 11 months.

How the chart is made
The adult weights come from the ALCA breed standard. The weight at each month is estimated with our size-class growth curves (a separate curve for each size), which gives the share of adult weight a typical puppy of that size reaches at each age. The curves are simplified from published research on dog growth, including the growth standard charts by Salt and colleagues (PLOS ONE, 2017).
If your puppy is well below or above the chart, stops gaining weight, or looks very thin or round, ask your vet to check its body condition.
